Finally an Image! M1

I've had some grief recently (I seem to be saying that almost every post...).

I decided to give my current set another last ditch attempt to get things working... if it failed I was going to switch round the camera's (a suggestion from Jon) and see if it was the DMK causing issues with PHD.

But everything worked OK.

No software crashes, guiding seemed to be OK. The only snag was it was a day after full moon and these was some high cloud around.

I decided to go for M1 - a fairly safe bet - some fairly bright guide stars. I used a 7nm Ha filter because of the moon.

There is a small amount of trailing on this image, not sure if that's due to tracking of rubbish polar alignment. Collimation looked OK, but may need some tweaking.

But it's an image...

1 single frame, 10 minutes with the 7nm HA. H9 and 62 F5.

There is some structure in there Ant. Good for 10 mins.

A little trailing, perhaps due to PA alignment, so not a big issue.

Let's hope you will be trouble free from now on.

Must be soul destroying when it persists time after time, and it would get anyone down I'm sure.
