TMB105 - just glorious, but costs more

WOFLT110 - Two people I know have them and rave about em

Meade 127 Triplet - Olly's results speak for themselves

or...???

May have to sell a few bits to get the TMB...but.....any thoughts>

What camera combination Nick? the 314? and what targets do you intend chasing? LRGB or narrowband (or combo)?

Very nice of you to mention my 127 results, Nick, but as a general rule the price is something one notices before the purchase and which one forgets for the rest of time. (I speak as a TakFSQ85 buyer so I know what I'm talking about!)

Something tells me you are looking for moral support in going for the TMB and it would be my very great pleasure to provide it. I can see the case the for the Mak-Newt but things do go wrong with anything except a refractor. The 127 is a treat at the price and the WO110 I don't know at all, though I see the results.

Chips are gettng bigger. The biggest, flattest field is where the future lies.

I`d second the TMB. Isn`t there one for sale on astrobuysell? TMB105/650 for £1550. Thats peanuts for such a glorious scope!!!

The WO is a good looking scope. The TMB looks like it is made up of spare parts from a U-boat. Really quite ugly. Its a good thing we dont buy on looks alone.

Spoke to Jan this morning, sorted, and hope to seal the deal just after xmas, as he's dealing with some family matters.

Watch out in the new year for me selling up some nice, but now (possibly) surplus...kit!

The ED80 has done me proud, just thought it was time to get something a bit special... next step is a newer bigger camera.. and I have my eyes on one imminent release :-)
