Orion / Horse / Flame / Paddock widefield

Managed to get 2.5 hours worth of subs of the old favorite Horsehead and Flame nebula.

Taken on the Skywatcher Pro II ED80 Gold at F7.5 600mm. Guided on ED120 / QHY5 / PHD. Imaged with EOS 1000D with Baader modification and Astronomik CSL clip LP filter.

I do like this area and really wanted to get a decent (ish) widefield view.

Tried this before and got trailing, so hopefully this one is a bit better.

Lovely image Catatonia, one of my favourite sections of sky. I really really want a 1000d even more now, they are producing fantastic results.

I hope you dont mind, but I had a wee play with your image in PS2, just for fun. The DSO in my effort is slightly brighter, but the stars are now to bold I think.

I am on the very steep PS learning curve and I like to have a fiddle with as many imags as I can. The weather around here has been rubbish lately so I find myself tinkering with images that folks have posted on here.

God image cat, Garys tweak works well too. I was imaging the HH myself last night but mist etc meant only 5 or 6 out of 30 images were useful.....not enough to process yet

I think I prefer Cats version as the nebula around the star is more defined and less saturated.
