M61 Galaxy

Here's another lost episode.. from my HD taken last Winter with the LX-90 and Canon XT. I don't think I've seen many pics of this one...

Great image Doug. No I've not seen much of M61, definitely worth the effort

Great image. Notice the distortion in the spiral arms. This is the tidal disruption caused by an interaction with Ngc 4292, which is actually visible to the upper right of the two stars in the upper right corner as a faint smudge. You've also caught Ngc 4292A, which is another 40 million LY further away.

Alright Astroman ...very good information on this galaxy...I do see the other NGC now that you mentioned it...It's a little more evident in my original...large image.
