Astroman Posted July 5, 2006 Share Posted July 5, 2006 Great image. Notice the distortion in the spiral arms. This is the tidal disruption caused by an interaction with Ngc 4292, which is actually visible to the upper right of the two stars in the upper right corner as a faint smudge.
