Cocoon Nebula taken back in early September, forgot about this object untill I was re-organising my files.

Details 26x8mins secs ISO 800 unmodded Canon 1000D 200mm F/4 Newt, MPCC+SW LP filter Guiding QHY5 + finderscope + PHD

Buy that man a beer. What an image! Since this is a largely Ha object this result is extrardinary and would be impressive in any camera let alone a standard DSLR. Next year why not go for the rest of the dust lane? It makes a killer project and you are clearly on top of it.

Well done - you've achieved a good result with a unmodded camera & processed well. There's some very little vignetting but can be processed out. However a Very good result indeed.
