M45 Pleiades (Some of the Seven Sisters)

I spent the weekend camping at Salisbury and was fortunate to have some good weather on Saturday night to do some imaging.

As I dont yet have a LRGB set for my new(ish) Atik 314L+, I thought it would be a 'waste' of the dark skies to just do narrowband.

So I dusted off the old Canon 400D.

I didnt frame the shot very well, so this is a crop as if you were 'inside' the nebulosity, or something like that

12 x 15 minute exposures (3 hours)

Its a great scope and what an amazing picture Aza, is the 400D mod'd or

is it just a vanilla camera ?

The spikes sure are massive on this one!

Yeah the camera has been modded.

Here is my version from last year using the same equipment. I cant remember if the camera was modded then or not though.

Wowwwwwwwwwww, Another great success Arran, the nebulosity looks awesome, very atmospheric,,Hmmmmmmm can I say that as the picture is of space lol.

Beautiful dust detail there Aza. How did you get the stars so small. Layers, or min filter perhaps?

Tom - I was planning to use layers and tricks to keep the stars down, but in the end I didnt need to. Just careful use of curves is all
