Galileo's Dream...

Hi,

As i was casually brousing New Scientist i came across the reviwes section, which containde coverage of this book Galileo's Dream. i duely ordered a copy as the review was very good and i now find myself signing up to an astronemy forum.

i have wanted to take a keener interest in astronemy since my breif encounter with the subject in A-level Physics. and reading about the development of Galileo's work has been inspiering.

my primary objective here is to find out and gain some of your opinions on telescopes and books, and which ones i would be best suited to, as there is such a range of prices and 'numbers' out there.
