Yep, real bargain. Secondhand HEQ5s are about £350 and S/H Evostars are around £250.

One thing watch Martin (and I'm sure you have!) is that mount is an HEQ5 and not a EQ5, the Evostar is a heavy scope and while a EQ5 could just about handle one the scope is much better suited to the HEQ5 IHMO.

Gaz, the mount that my friend is offering is also a HEQ5 with dual drives so thats definately a bonus!

I think i will buy it after hearing what a good deal it is, i will now have this for planets and quick observations and use my other 10" europa for deep sky stuff!

One question if you guys dont mind! Do you think that the HEQ5 would be able to handle my 10" europa? as it is currently sitting on an old GEM1 and get quite a few vibrations when veiwing at high magnifications.

The HEQ5 will be fine for visual for your Europa, you're pushing the mount but I'll do it OK.
