You may be interested to know that Tony Gondola has produced a nice tutorial on a refinement of this technique in Photoshop called 'negative difference processing' .http://www.digital-flight.com/thebigeye/neg_diff/neg_diff_processing.htmI've used this on low contrast objects such as lunar domes to good effect.
