Satellite question

Recommended Posts

All,

I popped out to view Jupiter about 3:10AM on Sunday AM. Just as I was setting up a really bright object (Much the same brightness as Jupiter) passed across the southern sky. I could see it with my naked eye and it was pretty much daylight by then. I initially thought it was a plane but managed to get my scope on it and couldn't see any detail. I'm assuming it was a satellite. Could anybody hazard a guess which?

I'm based 25 miles West of Aberdeen Scotland

Cheers

Alan

I was out at about 2320 last night and noticed a small white point moving across the sky, it was going too fast to be a plane so I can assume it was a satellite.

Too fast to catch it with the bins :)

Hi Alan, I was doing an all nighter, was it moving West to East? I believe it was the ISS. (Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) .Did you see a further two objects moving north to South South East in formation, one slightly brighter than the other.

Regards

Keithp
