Help Neeed - Astropedia

Ant

Recommended Posts

Anyone have a little bit of spare time and want to share some knowledge...?

I must admit that I've let this slip a little, but it's time to get going on this again.

Check out the astropedia pages...

Main Page - AstroPedia

A list of the current required pages can be found here - Wanted pages - AstroPedia

This list is by no means complete, it is just a list of articles that are linked to but not created yet. There are hundreds probably thousands of articles that we haven't even thought of yet.

If you interested in helping out, let me know in this thread or by PM. You'll need to create an account on the astropedia - but that's painless - then I can give you the permissions to create and edit pages.

It might be useful to have the same username on astropedia as you have on SGL (just makes life less confusing), but you can have any user name you want!

They'll also be an extra board within SGL to use to discuss all things Astropedia.

If you want to help improve the SGL resource then now's your chance. Even if you only add one article a month, your help will be much appreciated.

Cheers

I've just looked through the user list and there are a number of users I do not know.

If you already have set-up yourself up, let me know if you want to be able to add/edit. I'll make the changes to the permissions there and give you access to the astropedia board on SGL.

Cheers

Nice one guys :icon_salut:

Amanda you're all sorted - let me know of any problems.

Sam, I've altered your permissions with SGL, but can't see your account on Astropedia. Is it under a different name? or am I just too quick off the mark?

Nice one Sam - you're all set.

Have a look at the help file (link on the left in astropedia), that'll help out with links, formatting etc.

It really isn't as bad as it looks.

Cheers

  • 3 weeks later...

Anyone else fancy lending a hand.

We currently have 241 pages that are linked to but are not written yet. Even if you could write just one or two that would be great!

Here are the pages that we currently need!

Thanks

Anthony

You're a star :)

I really need to find more time to work on Astropedia. My circumstances have altered recently so I'm hoping for more time for things like this.

Been the same for me recently, just coming out of the uni exams period (results tomorrow) and I'm now having a break from 3rd year preparation... so I'll be on astropedia alot, lol!

I was wondering if there would be a way of making it known to other people who is on the Astropedia team? Perhaps colouring our names in the members list? Perhaps that way it'd be easier for people to get in touch, if they fancy having a go at writing an article. Just a thought anyway :)

Nice one John, every little helps. I'll sort out the permissions later tonight (bit pushed for time at the sec).

I think that's a good idea Amanda, we did that before the change to the new software. I'll have alook at the settings.

Cheers
