SGL Star Party Coma Berenices, Melotte 111

Another one I nearly forgot to process

This widefiled was taken at the SGL Star Party in April. It was captured with my Canon 400D and Sigma 10-20mm lens set to F4 17mm. Exposure ISO800 7x5mins. The camera was mounted on my Astrotrac.

The bright star to the left is Arcturus and the bright object to the right is Saturn. Melotte 111 is top middle.

Nice one Kevin! Melotte 111 isn't often imaged yet it's one of the closest objects to us at 288 light years (according to Wikipedia).

Another gorgeous WF from you Kevin. That Astrotrac is worth every penny, it has delivered some superbly guided starfields.

I would love to see this Image projected onto a big screen.
