rob453
I just read something about telrads. I have not seen anyone mention it. Is it worth getting for my setup. Would it make it easier to find nebulae and galaxies?
Doc
I use a Telrad and think they are the best finder by a long way.You have to get used to viewing with both eyes open. One looking through the glass screen and one looking at the sky.Once you have mastered that it makes star hopping alot easier. Many software programs and atlases have telrad overlays to aid in finding objects. John
Telrad's are great but rather bulky. For your scope I would suggest a Rigel Quickfinder which does more of less the same thing but is lighter and less bulky. They are a bit less expensive as well:Finders - Rigel QuikFinder Compact Reflex SightJohn

Doc
Rob I didn't read your sig but now I have I think a telrad will be OTT on your scope so I reckon a Rigel as well.
Rosie2
Just got a Telrad and not sure of positioning it on my Skywatcher Skyliner 200p 8" .Would I have to take the present finder off to get a good position.

Rosie2
Thanks for that but no go I only got 2cm between the focuser and finder.
John
Thanks for that but no go I only got 2cm between the focuser and finder.Well if you do have to remove your optical finder to fit it at least you can be reassured that the Telrad will probably be all the finder you need.John
