I got Graxpert to work by turning off the acceleration in the advanced section.  It's slow, but it works GREAT!

Not even noticed a hw accelerator on/on switch, but  I did notice a improvement in detail of the gradient corrected and denoised outputs in 3.0.2 over 3.0.0.

This is an amazing piece of free software.

I have an older version of GraXpert on my Win10 computer .... and I want to update to the latest AI version.

I have seen that most people say that I need to delete the older version first .... but how???

GraXpert does not show up in the Control Panel/Programs list .... but I have found all sorts of files obviously linked to GraXpert on my C Drive ..... but I don't know if I should just delete all of these one by one .... or if there is a much better way of removing GraXpert before installing the latest version.

Is anybody able to give me some advice about this?

I have won 10 don't think I bothered deleting old version, but the constant reminder to upgrade on loading it stopped.

If you just want to delete the old version, right click the shortcut and one of the tabs will say something like show target location. That should take you to the location on your drive of the exe file and stuff. Delete the folder that contains the exe and stuff.

There is a lot of useful smaller or bigger programs, including the cleaning ones. At least one of them performs entire cleanup with removing unnecessary folders and registry entries which Microsoft doesn't. Shame.

I am having some problems getting GraXpert running 100% correctly .... despite much effort 😞

It works as a standalone ... and also works OK if I run it from the PixInsight "Process" section. However ... if click on the GraXpert icon in the PixInsight "Script/Toolbox" section I get the same big error message as some people have shown above.

Should GraXpert show up in two sections in PixInsight ( ie: Process and Script ) ..... as it works in one but not the other????

Have I muddled up the installation at some point? I must admit I did uninstall the program and re-installed it a couple of times along the way and I may have confused it a bit!

Also ... I keep getting a message in PixInsight that I have "one module update available" when I ask for it to be downloaded I get a "404 Error " message and nothing happens ..... is this connected to my GraXpert problem???

I use it via Script - toolbox - graxpert 

I think 404 error usually relates to web page not loading, maybe because it’s missing or address has changed

It’s now a process, and no need to use the script version it’s outdated…👍🏻

OK .... I understand.... but how do I remove the link in the Script version in PixInsight? It keeps appearing and it niggles me 😞

Not sure mine is still there too, I have it twice under scripts, once in the toolbox and again standalone..the standalone one still works thought…

I have now sent an email to (hopefully) the bloke who developed GraXpert to ask him about this problem .... fingers crossed!

Well success .... I have manged to remove my useless GraXpert scripts ( two of them ) in PixInsight Script/Toolbox section. I found a great short YouTube video telling me how to do it :-)))

Now that these non-functioning scripts have been removed I no longer get a message telling me that I have a non-existent PixInsight update waiting to be downloaded every time I start up PixInsight !
