Early hours Sunday.

The castle has a dozen billion watt floodlights and I found it all a bit challenging at 03.00 hours.

Ended up doing untracked sky subs beyond the castle.  Then a mix of exposures for foreground, 1 castle, 1 mid and 4 near.

A bit of a disjointed result.

Cheers, Paul.

I think you need to give the folk at Bamburgh a light painting lesson! Given how tough it is, I think you’ve done a great job. Nice sky and foreground, and when you zoom in on the castle it’s clear you’ve controlled things really well there too.

It grows on me the more I look at it. 👍

Nice shot, despite the LP, it looks great.

We were up there last August, lovely part of the UK. We went over to Lindisfarne for a day, and found out that you can stay there. I did wonder whether it might be a good location for the Milky Way season.

Definitely!  Any closer and the light just overwhelmed the image.

It is a recommended dark sky location.  I couldnt see the castle lit up across the water.  It would be a tad too light during mid-summer.
