Hello.  I am a new astronomer.  Although I am 80 yo and been retired 12 yrs I am just now getting around to astronomy.  I have been interested since my teens.  But life kept me busy.  I have purchased a Newtonian scope Criterion Model RV Dynascope 6".  The scope has seen a lot of abuse.  I intend to learn about my telescope by repairing it.  I am a good mechanic.  And I will probably not do repairs that are pro grade.  But I will learn.  And I have not spent much money. 

So far I have removed the primary mirror and cleaned it.  So far so good.  But the next project is the spider mount of the secondary mirror.  It is a 4 leg mount.  One of the legs is broken and missing.  I don't know if I can fabricate a new leg. so I am first going to look for a replacement.  To that end, I wonder if anyone has an identical scope that they will sell parts.

Hi and welcome to SGL. You can buy the spider for reflectors separately from the scope. Measure the inside diameter of your telescope tube to ensure you buy the correct size.
