Is this for WiFi propogation range? I've found with the plus, get a SMA extension cable (make sure it's the right pin type each end, mine was 1M long), unplug the aerial, attach the cable then reattach the same aerial. The WiFi propogation is much better as a result. For some reason this doesn't affect the mini which has the best range out of all the airs. If you connect the air to your home router that should also give a good connection as router antennas are much better for propogation most of the time.

The SMA extension cable sounds a natty idea. Thanks.  I’ll play with connecting to my home router. As it happens I’ll have to get an extender for that anyway to reach the garden.

Best ones are powerline ones if you can't run long ethernet cables.

OK. I assume that is used to get the home internet to a 13A socket close to where the telescope is set up outside. And then presumably either an ethernet  cable is used to connect the power line adapter to the ASIair or over WiFi from the power line adapter?

You can get:

1. A powerline adaptor, one plugs into mains near the router, its twin plugs into the mains near your setup. You use a straight ethernet cable to plug the router to the first powerline adaptor, then another ethernet cable from the twin adaptor into the air. For these to work their best each mains port generally need to be on the same circuit, in a typical residential property I'd expect this to be the case. If not you may experience a loss in bandwidth.

2. A WiFi extender with an ethernet port, this can plug into mains halfway or near your setup, it is configured to connect to your router as a wireless access point. You can then either connect the air via WiFi to the extender, or run a straight ethernet cable from the WiFi extender ethernet port into the air.
