Darn sky map

[CELESCOPE]

New computer now , and my fav sky map seems to be corrupted, cant get it to load on any of my puters , Grrrr, so ok as i,m a bit behind on this now being stuck with Chris Marriotts SKYMAP PRO 9 for years , and is now knackered, can anyone recommend a good replacement , or a free bee HHEHHHE .

Cartes Du Ceil... CDC Sky Charts, Free Astronomy software , Celestial atlas

At least meets the Free bit and loads of add-on catalogs to download....

I agree I use Cartes Du Ceil. I think it's awesome piece of software.

There's also Stellarium, but for me its still The Sky6, not free, but then not expensive either.

Mind you, if you just want a Planetarium, without scope control, then the 'freebies' are good enough.

If your buying I'd also go with The Sky6 I like it a lot... The pro edition is the biz....

stellarium just (well 5 mins ago) made the gadget shows top 5 freeware list

Dont get me wrong when i want a quick look what the skies going to be like I use Steallarium its great especially with the atmosphere and LP simulations on... when I want to work out the exact centre RA and DEC co'ords and camera rotation for an image I use The Sky6 Pro... Horses for courses...
