Hi Guys

Although it was clear skies around here last night, it was a little misty.

Eventually found M97 by pointing the scope in the area of sky i expected it to be in.

No matter how much i tried i could not see it visually (probably due to mist).

Anyway, focused using DSLR Focus and took a 60 second sub, luckily it was in the camera FOV (not centred but HEY, i least i got it!)

Details:

C8N Newt at prime focus

Canon 300D (unmodded)

16 X 90 second subs @ ISO 800

Stacked in DSS and processed in CS2.

I took a total of 30 subs but deleted 11 of them due to signs of star trailling.

These subs were Unguided.

DSS stacked 16 of the remaining 19 subs.

thanks

Graham

Nice work Graham!!

IMO, the 'Owl' really needs good 'seeing' to get any real detail from it, but despite the misty conditions, you've captured his eyes nicely.

Not misty, but a lot of moisture in the air here last night.
