Convert AVI

I've made a very short video of an asteroid using MaximDL. It only has 10 frames. The output file is .AVI and is huge. Is there a way of converting this to something more manageable sizewise. At the moment it's about 120Mb.

The AVI size is 120Mb.  I've managed to convert it to MP4 which is only 1.5 Mb.  I wanted to email it to my daughter who is also into astronomy.  I've posted the video under observing/planetary.

120MB for 10 frames is not unrealistic if each frame is 12MB. Depending on how its stored and AVI is just a file container, it could have no compression or lots of compression. As it's an MS created file format, I'd assume it's not optimised.

Since you've converted it to MP4 the problem has gone away.

If you upload it to Youtube it is convertered anyhow.

When you save in maxim you can change the output file..not too sure what the video file options are
