Back heavy scope

I currently have a Ioptron RC6 mounted on EQ6, for imaging i am using Canon 600d,

The setup is very back heavy and i am struggling to achieve balance so i am looking for a simple counterweight system to attach to the front of the setup to aid in balancing,
This is the dovetail bar that is attached to the scope

Would any of these be suitable for the task ? with the above bar or is there some easier alternative that people have used?

Thanks in advance 🙂

How do you guide?

Many people attach guide scope on dovetail bar under the OTA and that way add weight to the front of the scope - like this:

I personally use OAG so above is not an option for me, but this Baader CW saves the day:

Out of those you listed - first one is Losmandy rail so probably not suited for RC6" which probably has standard Vixen dovetail bar. Second one is dual saddle - so good choice if you happen to have another scope with Losmandy dovetail and you plan to use CW with either.

No idea what the difference is between last two - but they seem like sensible option.

Most scopes will be back heavy with cameras/ filterwheel etc and those that you list are ample to do the job ..I use one myself on my sct.. decent balance is key to good guiding( assuming that you're imaging?)

The dovetail you have looks like a vixen style so make sure that you get the one compatible with the dovetail

Unless you want to go diy and  bolt a weight to the front.. just need to find one that offsets the weight at the back

You have pushed the scope up as far as you can?

Looking at it the last one is for vixen dovetails.. V series

Hi Vlaiv

I guide using qhy mini guide scope and the ZWO120 mini,

The red dovetail bar in the picture above is what is attached to the RC6 and what i would be looking to attach the counterweight to,
I do like the look of the one you linked to though, FLO have one similar but not in stock ☹️
