How long does it take for the TSA 120 to cool down?

Mine usually 40 or 60 mins depending on extreme differences

That’s slow compared to a 130 mm triplet I own, Takahashi make you wait for the good views…😃

For maximum performance on the planets my 5” Apo takes 60 mins to cool down maximum from a 20’C house to 3’C outside.

Is you triplet using an oil-spaced lens?

All the bubbles in the LZOS glass give more surface area to cool faster

😃 Ha-ha, but seriously bubbles in glass would slow down cooling. Where  are  Takahashi specifications for  Strehl or bubble density? Jerry have you done a Stu and have a LZOS 152 on order?
 

By the way not knocking TSA-120, best 120 mm out there.

No, but it’s kept in the garage so starts closer to required temperature

By the way not knocking TSA-120, best 120 mm out there.

 

I'd love a 152mm top refractor but alas it would still only be 152mm and I like more aperture in most cases. That and the wife would not be happy if I purchased one
