SW AZ GTi vs Solar Quest

Hi,

Anyone using either for solar imaging ? The AZ GTi looks more appealing due to it being more versatile but how do you go about using it for solar, alignment etc ?

I use the AzGTi to do white light solar imaging.

I set up the mount so that it is level (essntial) and pointing north (not sure I need to do that).

I manually locate the sun using the controls in the app and once found get it to track it.

Works pretty well for me and rarely need to adjust the alignment.

Yes, the North_Level alignment brings my Az_Gti pretty much into alignment if I level the tripod at the start. Takes a minute or thereabouts, so great for snatching a peek at the sun between gaps in the clouds.

I don't do imaging, but I do use the solarquest for visual. Take it outside, turn it on, it does the rest. Cannot get any easier than that.

I took a punt on the SolarQuest and love it for visual and imaging. Simplest set up ever and tracks amazingly!
