Hello folks.

Spent the evening tweaking settings and learning the new scope a bit.

Here's its first light photographically.

This is a single 15 minute sub of M1. A little elongation in the stars but I think I have a handle on what's causing it.

Camera was the Atik 16HR, PHD guiding, scope at F8. Ha filter.

Initial stretch with fits liberator and then the black point was raised a bit.

Quite a pleasing first light....finally :)

Cheers

I managed to get a meridian flip in TJ, although the clouds rolled in before I could image anything!

To reorient the camera, I put 2 long white cableties together, and marked them 180 degrees apart.

The rotating focusser has text at 180 degs each side, so I just rotate the marked cable tie to match up with wherever the focusser is, then rotate it so it lines up with the other side.

After the flip, M1 was still in the FOV, and just needed centring, then I had to recalibrate the guider.

Took maybe 10 minutes.

Fork mounts are easier though :)

Cheers

Rob
