Is this a good imprvement on polar aligmnet.

I just recently got a guide scope and camera, hoping to improve on the images I did before this perpetual cloud in the UK since May, my question is how much of an improvement I might make on the 30' accuracy visually and the 30" reported by sharpcap in this picture.

If you carry out a PHD2 Guide Assistant run, it only nags if PA error is greater than 5 arcmins.

That's because they consider 5 arcmins or better is easily guided.

So 30 arcsecs is fine.

I have started using SharpCap just recently and it's absolutely amazing tool for PA! If you are able to put your mount exactly on north position, then you even don't have to look into your polar scope = no more kneeling on grass 😃

I generally have a quick glance, just to make sure it's roughly there, then I don't look again.

Likewise. Been so long looking through the polarscope I find it hard to stop having a glance even after SharpCap shows excellent alignment figures!
