Bahtinov Focus

Hi, would a Bahtinov Focus mask be for observation or Astro Photography?

both it just won't work on planets but sharpcap does focus aids and one is the bahtinvo mask you need to fit it to the telescope then turn it on in sharpcap and focus the camera

Hi, 

A Bahtinov mask does exactly what you say It helps you achieve focus by creating diffraction spikes which you adjust the position of as you adjust your focus. I wouldn't say its for either/or, it's just a tool. Saying that, it can be very useful to manually find focus for astrophotography.

I made one for my 200P reflector and it can be used for visual or AP. Really easy to use visually on a brightish star.
