M51

After a miserable wet day yesterday, the sky cleared in the evening and stayed clear despite the weather forecasts saying it would be cloudy. I decided to image M51 because I already had some data from it from a few weeks ago but not enough to produce a nice image.

I used a William Optics Zenithstar 61 on a Star Adventurer mount.

In total it is 112 x 60 second exposures (1 hour 52 minutes) taken with a Canon EOS 100D over two nights.

That's a very nice wide field M51 Kyle.  A nice set up for getting out quickly to make good use of any gaps in the cloud.

Thanks Martin. It's great being able to carry everything outside in one go and not having to worry about it taking ages to take down if it clouds over or starts raining.
