yippee, I got the horse head..just!

It was a lovely clear night last night, I decided to see if I could get some wide angle shots without the scope, just using a 1970's Fujinon TV zoom lens (£20 of Ebay!) attached to the Mintron and mounted onto the EQ6 (a slight over kill for the job!). Well, it didn't fail to impress (me anyway!), I finally managed to capture the Horse head and flame nebulas, but only just. I could see the flame on the monitor, but the horse head took a lot of (my random) tweaking in PS to finally see it. I know it's relatively poor, but I was very pleased to have got it. Now I know what to look for, hopefully I can get it in the main scope, but the head alone will fill the FOV!

Nice one with the Mintron. I hope to try out this camera a bit more for myself in the future. A very nice neat peice of kit it is.
