Wonderful proms and two active regions today. If you can peak a look before the sun gets too low it’s quite a sight

It was a bit dull in WL earlier, apart from a nice faculae area.

Will get the PST Mod out tomorrow if it is clear. As John says, WL wasn’t showing anything apart from faculae today.

Chances tomorrow morning for observing this - of 3 forecasts I use 2 say a clear slot, 1 says broken cloud for Essex.

Yes, in ha John. Unusually, I hadn’t looked at Gong before setting up the scope, so was surprised to see such activity - it’s been such a long time since Cycle 24 was producing really substantial features on a regular basis.
So much to look forward to in both ha and white light, even if it might take another year or so for Cycle 25 to really kick in, although we’ve now had four or five features that have been associated with the new cycle over recent months.

Looking at Gong tonight the proms have pretty much gone - the thing that struck me earlier today was the intensity of the proms. But clearly meant they were also not long lasting.
