How fast can motorized mount can rotate

Hi, I've checked Sky-Watcher EQ3 PRO Go-To Astronomy Mount and it says it can rotate max 3.4 deg/sec. What is the maximum rotation speed of commercially available mount? Does any one know? Or 3.4 is more -or-less the fastest?

depends, are you asking about the various tracking speed or the fast-slew rates?

Don't know what the average is but my 10Micron can GoTo at 15 deg/s

Are you in a hurry ?     Seriously though I'm not sure that slewing speed is really much of a design consideration for a mount, normally people would be concerned with things such as tracking accuracy and payload.  Time spent slewing to different targets is really of little consequence.

Welcome to SGL.

My commercially available mounts are Dobsonians from Orion Optics UK.  If I want to rotate the mount to the opposite side of the sky it only takes a couple of seconds.  That’s 90 deg / sec. 😊

With an EQ mount, speed can be an issue if there is a meridian flip to handle.

It takes an exceptionally long time - or seems to when you want to get back to the eyepiece.

The only reason for wanting / needing fast slewing is for tracking satellites. In which case you need something like This. I think my DDM 60 does 10 deg/sec, and the DDM85 I'm commissioning will do 20.
