Which eq6?

Hi all

I was just wondering what exactly are the differences between the 3 eq6 mounts made by skywatcher Neq6pro ,azeq6, eq6r. I don't understand much technical stuff like belt drive etc .

All I know is that azeq6 can be used in AZ mode for visual observation.

When it comes to astrophotography which mount of the 3 serves the purpose ?

The EQ6R has the best payload so that would be my choice. I have one and it works well

@nova2000 if it's just astrophotography you want it for then you can discount the AZ-EQ6. The EQ6R-Pro is "Synchronous Belt Driven for reduced backlash, smoother operation and better results when guiding" as per their website. I have one and it works for me, there's a thread on here for owners of it. In the end everyone will have their own opinion on which you should get but it's up to you really on how much you want to spend.
