Cornelius Varley
Hard to tell from the photos but it should be 30 degrees of rotation for two hours.
Anthony1979
How would i work that out
AngryDonkey
The motor should run at the same speed as earth's rotation, so it should take 24h for the full 360 degrees. After one hour it should rotate 360/24=15 degrees.
Waldemar
To make it simple: Measure the circumference for example 36 cm. I one hour it should have moved 36:24= 1,5 cm
Anthony1979
So in 2 hours it should have rotated 3 cm
Cosmic Geoff
I do not see any reason to suppose it likely that the drive would run at the wrong rate, if correctly assembled. Since it is obviously running, you have overcome one hurdle, i.e. making the gears mesh.
John
3 hours ago, Anthony1979 said: So in 2 hours it should have rotated 3 cm Only if the circumference of your mount at the point you have marked it is 36cm. If it is different the rotation will be different. 36cm was just an example that @Waldemar was using. I agree with Cosmic Geoff - get on and use the mount.
