Hello

A solar eclipse is upcoming and I dont wanna miss a chance to photograph it :)

I was wondering if I use a cardboard sheet, cut it according to size of camera and apply solar filter on it, will it be safe to use with the dslr by placing it above the lense?

Thank you

Yes, should be ok to do. You could still use the visual grade as the camera will have a short enough focal length for a suitably bright image.  The remaining filter material could be used for other visual purposes.  Just make sure that the filter is secure.   🙂

Just make sure it has no pin holes or defects but should work fine ...

...and before every use!

If you see any defect, pin holes, etc., do not use it... bin it!
