IC 5146 Cocoon Nebula

This is IC 5146 Cocoon Nebula taken from ICAstronomy PixelSkies, Spain 

IC 5146 is a reflection/emission nebula and Caldwell object in the constellation Cygnus. The NGC description refers to IC 5146 as a cluster of 9.5 mag stars involved in a bright and dark nebula. The cluster is also known as Collinder 470.

Evening Carole,

I have recently moved from light polluted Birmingham to Rural Spain where we are setting up our second remote telescope hosting site.  I totally agree with you that dark skies certainly make a massive difference to the image quality and the amount of clear nights is also a bonus 😀.

Very nice image indeed there. I should do something like you are doing myself here as I have enough land to build a stadium or two on, but there is quite enough work to do without adding to it.
