Azgti in eq mode.

Hi,

Ive bought a synscan V4 handset to use with my azgt. However, the handset detects it as an az mount so doesn't give the eq options on initialisation.

Whats the best way to control it in eq mode for goto alignment etc as I find using my phone and wifi irritating as there is no tactile feedback hence getting the hand set. 

I do have the serial to handset cable.

Its a pitty you can't connect to the mount with both the handset and wifi at the same time. Or can you am I missing something?

You will need to update the motor control firmware to access the eq mode http://skywatcher.com/download/software/motor-control-firmware/

I'm afraid not - one or the other. 

Do you have a wedge to use the mount in eq mode? (like this: Equatorial wedge)

I thought I'd done that but on checking I'd only updated the az controller.

Not yet its my next purchase 😀 alongside the 72 ed pro.

Firmware in mount and handset all updated and working now.
