Light Leakage

I was amazed to see how much light leakage I am getting at the mirror end of my SW200p during my ASI1600mm-pro trials today.  If I cover up the mirror end, this goes away.

An elasticated light shield made by my wife with a couple of layers of black material.

And she also made me a nice dust cover for the scope and mount.

If your aim is to take darks I think you may find that this doesn't exclude all extraneous light.

No, it's not for darks, just to stop any light getting in at the mirror end whilst I'm imaging.

My last set of darks, which was actually my first set with the ASI1600mm, I took with the camera detached from the scope and the black lens cap inserted into the EFW.  This seemed to work fine.

As long as it works without causing a condensation problem, that's all that matters.
