Stock 200PDS focusser for imaging

Hi

I've been thinking of trying my Skywatcher 200PDS with my zwo1600pro and mini filter wheel but am having issues with the focusser that came with the scope. It's clearly not up the job of handling so much weight. Any suggestions for an upgrade for the focusser?

Many thanks

I recently upgraded my focuser and people were recommending either the Baader Steeltrack focuser or the Moonlite. In the end I picked the Baader and haven't regretted it, apart from fitting it, as it wasn't straightforward as the holes didn't align but I'm reasonably handy so it didn't take long. The difference in quality from the stock Skywatcher one is very noticable.

Just to say...i have the 250p-ds, never had any issues with the stock focuser with cameras mounted.  Have you tried adjusting it?  there are plenty of adjustment screws for collimation, traction, etc

Of course if you WANT the upgrade, then ignore this comment :)

I have tried adjusting the stock focusser and improved it considerably. I could get it to hold the camera but the slightest touch or rotation and it would rack all the way in.  It wasn't going to do the job I wanted without a lot of frustration. So I decided to just upgrade it and after much research went with the Baader Steeltrack Diamond NT which just arrived today. What a difference! It's on another level altogether in terms of quality and load capacity. It took about half an hour to install it onto my 200PDS as needed new holes drilling. The Sesto Senso fits perfectly and takes the weight of the 1600mm pro and filter wheel in it's stride just like my Esprit. It's rock solid. Looking forward to testing it if we ever get a clear sky!

That looks a good one too - didn't see that one. Matching the holes on skywatcher would certainly make it easier to install, you'd think there would be a standard they all adhere to. The key thing for me was that I knew for certain the Baadar would work with the Sesto Senso without needing any extra adaptors or anything.
