If you can get a view of the sun, then do so today! Despite the gales!

A small black spot slightly off-centre in WL is surrounded in a large, pale, "childhood inoculation scar" in Ha.

A nice prom at my 10.00 with many more circling an arc of the limb further down.

Peter was right about a Barlow/GPC improving the PST etalon sweet spot.

I'm getting the smoothest surface texture to date using the TS 1.6x GPC. It really pops!

Fitted the 1.6x into the nosepiece of the TS binoviewer with a pair of Meade 4000 26mms.

For a near perfect disk size nicely filling the field of view with a small annulus.

Thanks Peter! ?

Now all I need is being able to fit a star diagonal to save my neck and back.

No inward focus left and still 20mm short of a set!

Shame. It's clouding over here now as the fierce gales veer to the west.
I've been well sheltered by the dome thanks the observing slit being opposite the wind.

I now have three areas of plage. Lots of black pores scattered around.
Still trying to remember the proper names for solar features from my infancy!
Was I even there? :icon_clown:
