Skywatcher az gti owners

Hi all,  as anybody used a handset with the skywatcher az gti ? And if so  which version have you used,  i have a synscan from my eq5 and was wondering if i could use it with my az gti . The ver i have is 3.29 but i cannot find how to use az on it it seems to be eq only ? Regards John.

I use a version 4 handset with mine and it works really well.

 

More functionality than the free apps.

v3.29 should auto detect the alt-az mount and set the correct alignment and tracking. If not, you might want to upgrade to v3.39.05,

Thanks peter& tony  looks like i will have to upgrade the firmware  problem  now is finding a cable that will attach to my laptop and the handset.

I know Alan Green uses a handset - he's written at length about getting his AZGti up to speed. I bought one recently and tried it out for the first time this week - it was bang on first time and behaved beautifully all evening. Very impressive bit of kit.
