Maplins portable power station

Hi Guys, just been into maplins to get myself a power station, however the price is reduced from £44 to £20 from the 29th, the guy at the counter cant sell me one at that price till tommorow sooo I'll have to call back.

I'm certainly tempted to get one of these at £19.99. Even though I've got a PowerTank, this would be a cheap way of having even more power available! I'm just power mad! mwhahahaha!

I think the cheaper one will do for me. I need a supply for my roadpro 12V hairdryer/dew remover and it'll double as a supply for a 12V fan I'm intending to fit to the mirror cell.

It's nice that it's a 17Ah unit. You'd have to pay lots more for a similar supply.

You probably couldn't buy the 17ah battery inside it for that money.

Im not so sure, both my battery packs came from Makro and were only 14.99, both 17Ah -this still is a good deal

Makro is a supplier so you have to be a business to buy from it according to their website, that's why it was a good deal.

Makro aren't always cheap. I've got a Makro card and find that you have to select things carefully, as sometimes they're more expensive!

Just nipped over to Maplins and bought one of these. Should be ideal and it's a snip at £20

I could live without the air compressor but it's there if I ever need one.

The light is very bright and will need some red cellophane taping over it.

They'll do just fine for an HEQ5 pro starjumper.

Think I might buy the heated blanket that plugs into the powerpack, too. Should help keep things nice and warm whilst observing!
