First ?Lunar Light with ZWO ASI120MC-S

Recommended Posts

My planetary imaging attempts have only ever been amateur compared to the spectacular images posted on this forum. I thought it might be time to move on from my trusty Phillips webcam to a ZWO ASI120MC-S. Unfortunately I've been largely restricted to short observing sessions this summer, but recently I finally dropped the ZWO into my ED80 on a manual alt-az mount and winged it with the settings. Can't wait to try it with my mak :)

As far as planetary imaging is concerned.... we all started at some point.. my images were just slightly above a blurry blob to begin with.... today they're slightly better, and everyone is at different levels but ultimately we're ALL constantly trying to improve....

What I'm trying to say is do not be discouraged from posting your planetary images.

For a first lunar light I'm about where you are now, and I'm loving this image ?

Focusing seems to be a real issue for me as well so I've invested in the Sky Watcher auto focuser from FLO attached to my ST80. Atm I'm using the handheld controller for it, but come pay day next week I'll be adding in the PC link and using software to get mine (at least, this is the plan!)

Keep up the excellent work and clear skies ?
