Sky Watcher Maksutov 150 vs, Celestron C8

 For visual observations the best between this two telescopes?

Hello Paul,

The C8 had better light gathering than the 150 Mak so will be better on deep sky objects

The C8 had more resolution performance so will show more Lunar/Planetary detail

They weigh about the same

The C8 is more expensive

I would chose the C8

Another vote for the C8 as it cools slightly faster, has more light grasp, and is a better all round planetary plus deep sky scope.

Only downside would be the larger central obstruction, so not as good contrast as the Mak, but on the whole I feel the C8 is better. They weigh about the same too!

I also go for the C8 but just so you know, matsukov design make it almost always hold the collimation (assuming it correctly collimated out of factory) so one less thing to worry about.
