Aye, thanks for that reminder Ron. Just watched it with the wife (who is not usually interested in "space stuff." She enjoyed it too. It was very well put together as it conveyed a true sense of the intense drama and real danger the three astronauts were in. It was great to see them talking as they are now.

That they got back safely was a testament to their own bravery and determination, and the great ingenuity of the flight controllers and engineers back at Houston.

Apart from the film, which was a re enactment of the mission, there was a documentary very similar to this, which was also quite good.

Those guys must have been well trained to cope with the pressures they were under.

Although, I'm sure they could not have forseen that happening.

Quite timely as Fred Haise was in West Yorkshire last week talking about how the crew felt during the critical periods and explained how much the Tom Hanks movie over exaggerated some of the events.

Often forgotten is that Fred went on to fly the Enterprise Shuttle during the test drops off a 747.
