MarsG76
Hello Astronomers, I haven't imaged M83 for about 4 years and I wanted to see if my imaging has progressed in that time, so M83 was the perfect candidate for my next imaging project. This image was captured across two nights, 18 & 19 April 2018, using a Astro modded canon 40D through a 8" SCT at 2032mm focal length. The Southern Pinwheel Galaxy, M83 or NGC 5236 is a barred spiral galaxy 15 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra. The nickname of the Southern Pinwheel comes from its similarity to the Pinwheel Galaxy visible from the northern hemisphere. clear skies, MG

MarsG76
I always thought that he was Portuguese, or similar... just that Australia paid him enough money to carry the flag... Entertaining sport tho...
MarsG76
Slight improvement, I guess.... My 2013 & 2014 M83 images compared to this year.. the difference good tracking and good polar alignment makes.
