Known as the Pencil Nebula, is a small part of the Vela Supernova Remnant, located near the Vela Pulsar in the constellation Vela. It resides about 815 light-years away from Earth, It is thought to be formed from part of the shock wave of the larger Vela Supernova Remnant. The Pencil Nebula is moving at roughly 644,000 kilometers per hour.

Very nice indeed and always a nice to see those DSOs in constellations that we don't see her in Blighty. Great colour in the nebula and surrounding stars.

That's a gorgeous image. It really bears some magnification too - there's lovely detail in the lace-like part of the nebula. I'd never even heard of this object before! Well done.
