wait for it

Recommended Posts

Finely finshed making a dovetail for my 80mm Rich Field only to find out the the counter weight is a bit too heavy.

Popped it on the scales and it comes in at 5 Kg I'm guessing I will need between 2.5kg to 3.5kg.

Any suggestions?

Mark

Can you get away with no counterweight?

No although I do like to try to get it to balance, I don't think it will be a strain on the motors if its not perfect.

Mark, go your local sports store see if they sell loose exercise weights there usually available from 1kg upwards, either that or do what I did, call in at a local scrapyard and got some scrap lead and cast yourselve a weight, I've got a few cast that I use for when the scope is in different configurations (i.e. with/without camera)
