Rigging an Advanced GT for a Nikon DSLR

I have a Celestron Advanced GT mount and was wondering if there's a way or an adapter that would allow me to directly attach a Nikon DSLR to the mount so that I can take wide field shots with tracking enabled. I figured if this was possible, then it would be smarter than dropping $300 on an iOptron Skytracker. Thanks for any help.

All you need is a small Vixen dovetail, you can then screw this to the base of your camera or your tripod lens ring.

Hello and welcome to SGL. You are going to need two things. The first is a dovetail bar to match your mount, Orion sell a suitable bar with a built in 1/4"-20  screw (item #07388), and the second a tripod ballhead  . The tripod ballhead attaches to the dovetail bar via the 1/4"-20 screw. The ballhead allows you to adjust the orientation of the camera on the eq mount.

Alternatively, if you have a small scope with a camera attachment on top, like an ED80, then you could piggy back. You would still need the ballhead.
