Kaptain Klevtsov
I SAW SATURN!The 15 seconds of fame thing. Now its gone for the rest of the night. It must be ages since I saw it as its much much higher than last time (just checked 17th, thats 9 days ago!).I'd set up the Frac. to see if it lived up to the "better contrast and resolution" that I'd read about but forgotten that you look down the low end. Setting up the HEQ5 is easiest done (for polar alignment) without the scope on, and when I aligned it on a likely looking cloud I hadn't had the idea of testing the frac. So there's me, spotting the cloud hole with Saturn in it through the 10x50s, ended up rolling around on the ground like a break dancer, but i DID see it. Certainly looked clearer than in the Newt, but that could be down to the different seeing, darker sky, just the thrill of it or whatever. I'll need to do a back to back to check on that.Trots in with the empty laptop, all covered in mud, to the usual "waste of time again? What have you done, fallen over? You did WHAT?" Happy days.Captain Chaos
