After cloudy skies ruined any chance of observing the Geminids over the last few nights I had a lovely surprise just now when I left for work at 7.  

Clear blue skies and a slender crescent Moon, Jupiter and Mars looking lovely all in a row. Just wish I had the time to get some binoculars out.

You did better than me, John - I set the ST120 up at 5.00 when the sky was clear, all ready for the spectacle at about 7.00.  Total cloud by then, though!

You missed a treat Doug. But not unexpected at present, the weather’s been awful.  I’m hoping for clear tonight

They have been looking lovely haven't they John? Caught them in a triangle the other morning, very nice against a clear, deep blue sky.
