Well here's my effort with my my baby tak at f10. Can just see they're discs. It was a lovely morning.

I can see one may be a star as it look a long way over to the right hand side 3" up  & 2" in.

They're definitely there. 2 of them (I stand corrected) I took your image and fettled with curves then a little highlights dodge to emphasise once I had the contrast.

Excellent picture Richard, and a great job John! I had been sitting here thinking I could see a moon or two, but nothing I did made them stand out any better. Mind you that is on my phone!! Great result!

Thanks Stu, I’ve just spent the past hour or so trying to bring them out in PixInsight. I can do it but not as well as a John.

Nicely done. I think that star (didn't spot it until Starlight pointed it out) is Lambda Virginis.

Ha, beat me to it, I’ve just this minute looked that up.

So what’s the better image? Normally I’d say the first because the second is more noisy, but the second is now much more interesting, so I think I prefer that despite the noise.

I prefer the second because it contains more information. Only pixel peepers will be bothered about the noise

Great  job on that John. I’m just wondering if you put that through Registax and did an RGB align, whether that would improve it even more? Or maybe you’ve already done it? I’m in bed now so can’t do it! ?
